The hospital also provides emergency services. The emergency garage,
completed in April 2005, provides drive-through access so emergency patients can
enter the hospital without exposure to the elements. All registered nurses as
well as the three general family practitioners and the respiratory therapist are
certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) which provides them the skills
to manage life-threatening situations in the emergency room. In addition, all R.N.s are
trauma certified, enabling them to effectively manage the trauma patients brought
to the emergency room. Should transport to another facility be required for
services that ACMH cannot render, we have access to helicopter ambulance
services. The helicopter lands right outside the emergency room doors. |
