Position: Clinical Informatics Coordinator

General Description:
Responsible for the coordination of Clinical Informatics. Key responsibilities include direct involvement with the development, implementation, training, and support of the electronic health record (EHR). Facilitates staff teams in the use of the EHR in collaboration with IT, nursing, financial, and clinical departments, including training needs. Serves as the clinical liaison between IT and end-users for use of EHR. Responsible for the coordination of clinical data through utilization of the Electronic Health Record. Will assist with quality data reporting including building reports and abstracting data.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited program of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa. Bachelor’s degree a healthcare-related field is preferred, but not required. Non-nursing  Prior experience in the healthcare field in a clinical role, preferably within a hospital-based system. Prior experience working on performance improvement, quality, or infection prevention teams, preferred. Highly developed problem solving skills. Ability to adapt to flexible work schedule and frequent interruptions. Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines on daily work and special projects. Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
