General Description:
Supports and maintains the organization’s information systems desktop environment.  Ensures proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level. This role provides technical support to computer users, setting up new employees for system access, configuring new and maintaining existing computers. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training and assistance where required. Also will help with migration to Windows 10 and other projects. Participate in rotating after hours/weekend on-call support.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Associates degree or other formal education in computer science, MIS, electronics, or equivalent experience preferred. Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows 7 (and above). Previous experience deploying technology is required, preferably in a healthcare setting. Ability to conduct research into desktop and network issues and products as required. Must possess the ability to teach and train end-users and limit dependence on him/herself. Strong written and oral communication skills. Must be able to help nontechnical people understand and use equipment and software and have good interpersonal skills. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation.
