ARNP ED Provider/Hospitalist (Full-Time)

Position: ARNP ED Provider/Hospitalist
Department: Medical Staff
Hours: Full-Time | 48 hours weekly | Weekend package option
General Description:
Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our provider group in Audubon, Iowa. The opportunity provides for the ability to work in both the hospital and emergency room settings. The emergency department is staffed with three full-time nurse practitioners and the use of telemedicine with eAvera. The medical staff also includes two family physicians that round on their patients during the week as well as two family nurse practitioners, a full-time general surgeon, and several visiting outpatient specialists.
Experience/Education Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited ARNP program.
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Unrestricted license in the state of Iowa as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS required within 90 days of hire.
  • Credentialed as provider with DEA number and prescriptive authority.
  • Prefer minimum of two years’ experience in hospital and/or emergency medicine.
  • Able to communicate effectively with all members of the health care team.
  • Able to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Electronic Health Records.

Located halfway between Des Moines, IA, and Omaha, NE, Audubon County Memorial Hospital & Clinics is a 17 bed, Critical Access Hospital serving Audubon County and the surrounding areas, with the mission of “Excellence with Quality and Compassion to Those We Serve.”

Our services include emergency services, acute care, skilled nursing services, laboratory, radiology, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and surgical services. In addition, we offer several specialty services including orthopedic, mental health, pain management, podiatry, dermatology, oncology, spine surgery, cardiology, head and neck surgery, and urology.

We also operate two rural health clinics, Audubon Family Health Care and Exira Medical Clinic. Our clinics offer complete care from newborns to senior adults by providing well child check-ups, age-appropriate preventative care, sports and school physicals, immunizations, and treatment of occasional and ongoing illnesses.

Audubon County is located in west central Iowa with a population of approximately 6,000 residents. Audubon is home to the famed, Albert the Bull, a tribute to the nation’s beef industry.  Named for the naturalist and artist John James Audubon, Audubon County consists of five incorporated towns; Audubon, Brayton, Exira, Gray and Kimballton.
