General Description: | |
Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical and emergency care setting. Communicates with physicians and co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Coordinates patient care activities, based on established priorities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, and discharge planning. Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, family members, and members of the health care team about the patient’s plan of care. | |
Experience/Education Requirements: | |
Graduation from an accredited program of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa is mandatory. Prior nursing experience in a hospital inpatient and/or emergency department setting, highly preferred. Must be familiar with electronic health records and have basic computer skills. Must maintain all certifications as required by job function or by law. Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation. | |

Audubon County Memorial Hospital & Clinics is a 17- bed, Critical Access Hospital serving Audubon County and the surrounding areas, with the mission of “Excellence With Quality and Compassion to Those We Serve.”
Our services include emergency services, acute care, skilled nursing services, laboratory, radiology, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and surgical services. In addition, we offer several specialty services including orthopedic, mental health, pain management, podiatry, dermatology, oncology, spine surgery, cardiology, head and neck surgery, and urology. We also operate two rural health clinics, Audubon Family Health Care and Exira Medical Clinic. Our clinics offer complete care from newborns to senior adults by providing well child check-ups, age-appropriate preventative care, sports and school physicals, immunizations, and treatment of occasional and ongoing illnesses. |
