Position: Plant Operations Specialist

Hours: Full Time
General Description:
Under general supervision of Administration, supports and maintains the organization’s facility operation, buildings, and grounds.  Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the facility in good repair.  Minor maintenance, repairs and other duties are the primary duties.  Assists with plumbing, electrical and HVAC maintenance. Constructs, repairs, and maintains wooden structures such as furniture, equipment, partitions, and other parts of the hospital buildings, using hand tools and power tools according to written and oral instructions.  Participates in rotating after hours/weekend on-call support.
Experience/Education Requirements:
A high school diploma, or equivalent, and a working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural building operational and maintenance systems is required. Certification in plant systems equipment is desirable. Strong oral communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.  Strong customer service orientation. A working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems. A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment. Knowledge and observance of safety precautions. Proficient in carpentry, boiler water testing, plumbing, painting/plastering, and other related skills.
