Dr. Daniel Hatz is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon that practices all aspects of general orthopedics including full spectrum general orthopedics, knee and shoulder arthroscopies, fracture repairs, knee replacements, and rotator cuff repairs.
Dr. Hatz played football at Drake University in Des Moines while getting his degree in Biochemical Molecular Biology. He then went on to graduate Medical School at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and had his Orthopedic Residency at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, IL. After Residency he joined the military and has served his country in the United States Air Force for over 16 years. As a flight surgeon, he has flown F16’s and practiced orthopedics with the military all over the United States, in Korea, and Ramstein, Germany.
Originally from Sioux City, IA, Dr. Hatz grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. He has always had a special and deep connection to Iowa. He is very happy to be back in the United States and in Iowa with his wife Lauren, and their two young boys, Kinnick and Hayden.
Dr. Hatz wants to provide the highest quality of care to the people of Audubon County and is pleased to be practicing in Audubon. He understands that orthopedists in smaller towns must be well versed in a multitude of orthopedic procedures. He is quite comfortable in this type of setting, as he has had many years of experience with being a Solo Orthopod.
