The Audubon County Hospital Foundation made a strong debut with its first Gala and Fundraiser on Saturday, March 7, 2026, drawing over 300 community members and sponsors from across the Midwest to the Audubon County Fairgrounds Agri Hall. The evening was centered on advancing local healthcare and raising funds for a Hologic Envision Mammography Unit—technology that will position Audubon County Memorial Hospital as the first in Iowa to offer this innovative system.

Audubon County Memorial Hospital’s Rehabilitation Services Department continues to provide outreach services to the community.  This winter, Rehabilitation Services Courtney Schlichte, DPT, visited with students from Buena Vista University.

Audubon County Memorial Hospital today announced it has been recognized as a 2026 Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. The Top 100 awards program celebrates outstanding performance annually among the nation’s rural hospitals based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®.

ACMH is proud to announce that Ann Huegerich, Outpatient Specialty Clinic Receptionist at Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics was honored with the 2026 first quarter ACMH Employee Recognition Award.

This past summer Audubon County Memorial Hospital  and Clinics (ACMH) began a new student internship program.  This program is designed to give college students in the area an opportunity to learn various aspects of working in a rural critical access hospital. The goal of the program was to combine the interests of the students with job positions within ACMH. Depending on the students selected, their skillset, and the needs of the organization, internship assignments are created.

Audubon County Memorial Hospital & Clinics (ACMH) this week hosted Ignite the Patient Experience™, a two-day, on-site engagement designed to achieve a breakthrough improving the patient experience, caregiver engagement, and long-term organizational culture.

Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics (ACMH) is excited to announce the expansion of its OB/GYN services with the addition of Kelly Anderson, FACOOG, D.O. to the ACMH Outpatient Specialty Clinic team.

Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics (ACMH), is proud to offer a new award that recognizes all non-nursing employees who go beyond the expectations of their job description and bring true meaning to the phrase “Excellence with quality and compassion to those we serve.”

Continuing the festivities throughout the hospital, ACMH had employee events leading up to the holidays to keep morale high. Starting December 1st, each department had two and a half weeks to decorate their trees with whatever they chose. All departments including both Audubon and Exira Rural Healthcare Clinics participated in submitting photos of their trees for the Department Decoration Contest. Open to all staff members, voting took place on December 18th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., allowing staff to look carefully at each picture of the trees before deciding which one should take first place.

During the first half of the month, the ACMH Employee’s Club organized a Reverse Advent Calendar, also known as the 12 Days of Christmas Food Drive.

On Monday, December 15th, 2025, the ACMH Employee’s Club held their annual Night With Santa gathering. One of the event organizers and long-time Employee’s Club member, Sue Wede along with fellow elves, Paul Mormann, Kylie Stroeher, and Kandi Tague, created a space that turned ACMH into Santa’s workshop. The event itself was held at The Gathering Place with ACMH employees and their families anxiously awaiting their time with Santa. Filling the room with laughter and holiday cheer, ACMH’s families enjoyed goodies supplied by the Employee’s Club while waiting their turn to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas.

Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics (ACMH) is pleased to announce that its Med-Surg and Emergency Room Departments have received two Vapotherm Respiratory units funded through the Audubon County Hospital Foundation’s 2025 Annual Giving Campaign. The Foundation dedicated its fundraising efforts throughout the year to securing these units, which will significantly enhance respiratory care services at ACMH.

The ACH Foundation has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting early childhood education by providing books to kindergarten students at Audubon and EEHK through its annual “Books for Kids” initiative. This marks the fourth consecutive year the Foundation has sponsored the program, underscoring its dedication to investing in the youth of Audubon County.

It started with one mom, two young servicemen and an everyday conversation.

Boni Johnson, RN (a nurse at ACMH Rural Healthcare Clinics) has 2 sons that serve in the military and are currently stationed overseas, one in Iraq and the other in Syria.

Becky Bruch, RN of Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics was recently honored for the second time, with The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s programs to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.

The ACMH Employee’s Club (EC) encourages the community to join them in this season of giving as they sponsor a “Reverse Advent Calendar Drive.”
