Physical Therapist Assistant (Full-Time)

Position: Physical Therapist Assistant
Department: Rehab Services

General Description:
The physical therapist assistant (PTA) is responsible for assisting the physical therapist in the provision of physical therapy, performing physical therapy procedures and selected tasks that have been selected and delegated by the supervising physical therapist in the care of infant pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, and modifying a specific intervention in accordance with changes in the status of the patient and within the scope of the plan of care established by the physical therapist.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant associate degree program required. Licensed in the State of Iowa required. Must be familiar with electronic health records and have basic computer skills. Must maintain all certifications as required by job function or by law. Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation.

ACMH Encourages Residents to Get Their Annual Flu Shot With Extended Walk-In Hours

Audubon County Memorial Hospital & Clinics wants to remind you that getting a flu vaccine every year is the best way to protect yourself and your family from the flu and its potentially serious complications. Flu season typically begins in late October or November. Since the vaccine takes about two weeks for antibodies to develop in the body, getting the vaccine now will offer protection when the season begins.

Laboratory Technician (Full-Time)

Position: Laboratory Technician
Department: Laboratory

General Description:
Perform all levels of testing complexity and analysis on biological specimens to provide information used in the diagnosis, prevention or treatment of disease. Utilize a variety of procedures that may involve numerous detailed tests and techniques that require the use of professional judgment. Carries out a variety of complex procedures involving considerable independent judgment. The incumbent must be able to perform procedures of moderate and high complexity in Hematology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Immunology and Microbiology. Works with all levels within the organization and maintains positive relationships, cooperation, communication and coordination of all activities.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited program of laboratory as a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) is mandatory. Experience in laboratory preferred. Ability to adapt to flexible work schedule and frequent interruptions. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills. Must exhibit a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters.

Laboratory Supervisor (Full-Time)

Position: Laboratory Supervisor

General Description:
Responsible for supervising all of the Laboratory department operational procedures and staff. In charge of equipment maintenance, inventory, reorganizing, and continually updating the department’s policies and procedures and educating staff. Assists with overseeing the budget, department operations, staffing, and resource needs. Makes sure the department is in compliance with both regulatory and accrediting organizations. Serves as a working supervisor and performs the functions of all positions and areas within the department frequently and as needed.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited program of laboratory with current certification as a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) OR completion of a 4-year degree in related sciences. 5 years of laboratory experience required. Ability to adapt to flexible work schedule and frequent interruptions. Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines on daily work and special projects. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills. Must exhibit a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters. Must have demonstrated experience leading others and coaching employees. Provider relations experience preferred.

Expanded Spine Surgery Services at Audubon County Memorial Hospital & Clinics

Audubon County Memorial Hospital & Clinics is excited to announce that Dr. Pedro Ricart will be adding spine surgeries to his list of services provided in our outpatient specialty clinic! Dr. Ricart has been providing our patients with acute and chronic nonsurgical treatment for neck and back issues since 2017 and will now be performing minimally invasive spine procedures for adult scoliosis & kyphosis, and cervical and lumbar disc problems.

Develops and implements physical therapy treatment programs in the treatment of neonatal through geriatric patients. Plans treatment programs designed to relieve pain, improve function, and return to maximum level of performance based on individual patient needs identified by thorough evaluation. This evaluation may be administered independently or under referral from a healthcare provider. Develops and administers individual treatment plans for physical rehabilitation. Makes recommendations and assists in and/or performs fitting of adaptive equipment and orthopedic appliances. Designs home treatment programs, counsels and educates patient, family, and/or caregiver on care and home treatment programs.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited program of physical therapy with current licensure as a Physical Therapist with the Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners in the State of Iowa is mandatory.
