A Moderna Booster Vaccine Clinic will be held on Wednesday Jan 19, 2022 from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. at Audubon County Memorial Hospital. Please call Melanie Larsen 712-563-5238 to set up an appointment.
On January 5, 2022 the CDC expanded booster vaccine eligibility for adolescents ages 12 to 17 years old recommending they should receive a booster vaccine 5 months after their initial Pfizer-BioNTech vaccination series. Data show that COVID-19 boosters help broaden and strengthen protection against Omicron and other SARS-CoV-2 variants. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) reviewed the available safety data following the administration of over 25 million vaccine doses in adolescents; COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective.
The year of 2021 saw the completion of Audubon County Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) retrofit. Unfortunately, for COVID-19 safety reasons the Hospital was unable to host an open house for the community to see the updated ED before the grand re-opening. Hospital employees, Board of Trustee and Foundation representatives, and Audubon community leaders came together to celebrate with a ribbon cutting.
