Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our provider group in Audubon, Iowa. This opportunity delivers anesthesia to patients across their lifespan under the care team approach providing general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care. Experience/Education Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program required.
  • Certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists required.
  • Unrestricted license in the state of Iowa as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
  • Current certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required within 90 days of hire.

General Description:
Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care for a specific group of patients. Experience/Education Requirements:

Plant Operations Specialist 

Position: Plant Operations Specialist  
Department: Plant Operations

General Description:
Under general supervision of the Plant Operations Director, supports and maintains the organization’s facility operation, buildings, and grounds.  Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the facility in good repair.  Minor maintenance, repairs and other duties are the primary duties.  Assists with plumbing, electrical and HVAC maintenance. Constructs, repairs, and maintains wooden structures such as furniture, equipment, partitions, and other parts of the hospital buildings, using hand tools and power tools according to written and oral instructions.  Participates in rotating after hours/weekend on-call support.
Experience/Education Requirements:
A high school diploma, or equivalent, and a working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural building operational and maintenance systems is desirable. Certification in plant systems equipment is desirable. Strong oral communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.  Strong customer service orientation. A working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems. A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment. Knowledge and observance of safety precautions. Proficient in carpentry, boiler water testing, plumbing, painting/plastering, and other related skills.

Financial Counselor  

Position: Financial Counselor  
Department: Business Office

General Description:
The Financial Counselor will work closely with the Patient Access Specialists and other departments within ACMH to verify all patient information, personal, insurance and financial, to ensure account balances can be paid in full, in a timely manner.  This includes visiting with patients prior to admission or upon dismissal about the billing, charges, expected insurance payment and estimated patient responsibility. The role primarily involves insurance verification and assisting patients and their families with financial and payment issues. The financial counselor performs an important role in protecting the hospital’s cash flow. This position is unique in that the financial counselor has the opportunity to follow the patient through the entire process from pre-registration through discharge to guarantee the hospital has accurate patient demographics, financial information and/or payment arrangements. The Financial Counselor may be the first and last contact/communication the facility has with our customers, thus excellent customer services skills are a must. This position is responsible for working proactively and in partnership with patients to avoid the engagement of collections agencies, except as the option of last resort. Reviews patient accounts and determines accounts requiring collection action; coordinates correspondence with outside collection agencies. In addition, this role is responsible for assisting the Department Director in facilitating the documentation and management of bad debt. Outbound calling for purposes of collections is required. Establishes and maintains good rapport with all people, both hospital personnel and the community at-large as an essential function. Works in an atmosphere that requires team work and an orientation toward maintaining a high public image of the organization.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Minimum of a high school diploma, or equivalent, required. Previous customer services experience required. Previous Business Office duties, financial or insurance experience or education in a healthcare setting, highly desired. Knowledge of medical terminology. Word processing and computer experience desirable. Demonstrated skill in verbal and written communication is required. Ability to adapt to flexible work schedule and frequent interruptions. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical and emergency care setting. Physical Therapist (Full-Time)

Position: Physical Therapist

General Description:
Develops and implements physical therapy treatment programs in the treatment of neonatal through geriatric patients. Plans treatment programs designed to relieve pain, improve function, and return to maximum level of performance based on individual patient needs identified by thorough evaluation. This evaluation may be administered independently or under referral from a healthcare provider. Develops and administers individual treatment plans for physical rehabilitation. Makes recommendations and assists in and/or performs fitting of adaptive equipment and orthopedic appliances. Designs home treatment programs, counsels and educates patient, family, and/or caregiver on care and home treatment programs.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited program of physical therapy with current licensure as a Physical Therapist with the Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners in the State of Iowa is mandatory. Must be familiar with electronic health records and have basic computer skills. Must maintain all certifications as required by job function or by law. Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation.

Collects specimens and performs testing ensuring that testing is conducted in an accurate, efficient and timely manner that facilitates positive patient care in accordance with established policies, protocols and practice guidelines. Utilize a variety of procedures that may involve numerous detailed tests and techniques that require the use of professional judgment. Carries out a variety of complex procedures involving considerable independent judgment. The incumbent must be able to perform procedures of moderate and high complexity. Works with all levels within the organization and maintains positive relationships, cooperation, communication and coordination of all activities.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Requirements include graduation from an accredited program for medical laboratory professionals and ASCP certification required. Would consider someone with a four-year degree in a science related field of study and experience in a hospital laboratory setting. Experience in hospital laboratory preferred. Ability to adapt to flexible work schedule and frequent interruptions. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills. Must exhibit a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters.

General Description:
Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical and emergency care setting. Communicates with physicians and co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Coordinates patient care activities, based on established priorities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, and discharge planning.
