MODERNA BOOSTER VACCINE APPROVED/ AUDUBON COUNTY VACCINE SCHEDULE

As of October 21, 2021, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory committee and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend a booster dose of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine to people ages 65 and older and other vulnerable Americans.

ACMH’S LIFE FITNESS CENTER REMAINS CLOSED TO GENERAL PUBLIC UNLESS AUTHORIZED BY PROVIDER

Audubon County Memorial Hospital’s Life Fitness Center will remain closed to the general public due to the continued increase of COVID-19 numbers in Audubon County.  We will continue to authorize patients to use the Fitness Center if they are currently in rehabilitation treatment through the Rehab Services department or those that have had a recent hospitalization or change in condition with a healthcare provider therapy order.  For these authorized individuals, the fitness center can be used by appointment only between 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No more than six people can be in the fitness center exercising at one time. To set up a time to use the fitness center, contact the Rehab Services department at 712-563-5314. All patients using the Fitness Center must agree to adhere to the rules of social distancing, stay six feet apart, use hand sanitizer before using the equipment, and clean the equipment off properly after each use. Patients using the fitness center will not be required to wear a mask while exercising but will be required to wear a mask in all other areas of the hospital. The fitness center doors will remain closed, so patients should enter through the main entrance to be screened.

MODERNA COVID-19 VACCINE BOOSTER UPDATE

In anticipation of the CDC recommendation, following the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory committee recommending giving booster shots of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine to people ages 65 and older and other vulnerable Americans, Audubon County Public Health and Audubon County Memorial Hospital will be holding community Moderna booster clinics. Below are the following dates, times, and locations.

RN – House Supervisor (Full-Time)

Position: RN – House Supervisor
Department: Med-Surg/ED
Hours: Full Time / Nights
General Description:
Plans, directs, and evaluates the overall nursing care and functions of Audubon County Memorial Hospital during an assigned shift. Coordinates the nursing activities of the hospital and directs, organizes and assigns work to the nursing staff. Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Coordinates activities within the hospital including assisting with staffing, patient flow, and coordination of hospital activities. Assists as directed in data collection and monitoring aspects of patient care. Acts as a resource person for nursing staff, and also for other departments within the hospital as indicated. Manages situations that arise in the hospital. The House Supervisor is a Registered Nurse that demonstrates leadership and provides guidance to the health care team while they are providing services to patients and/or families. The House Supervisor serves as a resource person to staff, providers, and patients. They determine staffing needs, monitor bed availability and appropriate placement of patients. The nurse in this role assumes an interdisciplinary role by assuming responsibilities for various departments in the absence of administration.
Experience/Education Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited program of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa is mandatory.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hospital nursing experience required. Prior supervisory experience in a hospital-setting, preferred.
  • Must be familiar with electronic health records and have basic computer skills.
  • Must maintain all certifications as required by job function or by law.
  • Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation.
