Audubon County Memorial Hospital & Clinics is a 17 bed, Critical Access Hospital serving Audubon County and the surrounding areas, with the mission of “Excellence With Quality and Compassion to Those We Serve.”

Our services include emergency services, acute care, skilled nursing services, laboratory, radiology, heart and vascular services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and surgical services. In addition, we offer several specialty services including cardiology, dermatology, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, hand specialist, nephrology, obesity medicine (weight management), obstetrics, oncology/hematology,  orthopedics, pain management, podiatry, pulmonology, rheumatology, and urology.

We also operate two rural health clinics, the Audubon Family Health Clinic and the Exira Medical Clinic. Our clinics offer complete care from newborns to senior adults by providing well-child check-ups, age-appropriate preventive care, sports and school physicals, immunizations, and treatment of occasional and ongoing illness.

Audubon County Memorial Hospital & Clinics has been named one of the 2026 Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the United States by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. ACMH is proud of having received this honor eight times in the past decade. In 2017, Audubon County Memorial Hospital & Clinics was also named a “Top 20 Critical Access Hospital” in the nation by the National Rural Healthcare Association (NRHA).

Graduation from an accredited program of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa is mandatory. Prior emergency department or ICU experience, preferred. Must be familiar with electronic health records and have basic computer skills. Must maintain all certifications as required by job function or by law. Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation.

Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care for a specific group of patients. Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical and emergency care setting. Communicates with physicians and co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patients’ clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Coordinates care in collaboration with the patient, family, nurses, peers, physicians, and allied health care providers. Assumes responsibility for the outcome of nursing care delivered. Additionally, performs general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
