National Healthcare Decisions Day

National Healthcare Decisions Day educates and empowers the public and healthcare providers to take part in important advance care planning.

Audubon County Residents ages 18 and older sign up for the COVID-19 vaccine! Johnson and Johnson single dose vaccine now available.

Beginning April 5th those in Iowa ages 16 and older will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. Audubon County initially had only received the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, a two-dose series separated by 28 days.  We have been notified that Audubon County will also be receiving 100 doses of the Johnson and Johnson single dose COVID-19 vaccine.  Both the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines are designed to prevent COVID-19 in those ages 18 and older, therefore in Audubon County, only those 18 and older will be eligible.  Audubon County has been guaranteed from the Iowa Department of Public Health on receiving at least 200 doses of Moderna weekly (enough to fully vaccinate 100 people).  At this time, the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is a single allotment with no guarantee on future doses.
