Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics (ACMH) invites community members ages 18 and older to attend Talk Saves Lives, a free suicide prevention education program on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, at the Audubon Rec Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the presentation runs from 6 to 7 p.m.
Presented by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), Iowa Chapter, and sponsored by ACMH, Talk Saves Lives provides practical information to help people recognize suicide risk factors and warning signs, approach difficult conversations with compassion, and connect individuals with resources and support.
Shelli Brown, ARNP, of the ACMH Behavioral Health Clinic, will provide introductory remarks highlighting the importance of suicide prevention awareness and community support. Amara Huffine, Area Director for the AFSP Iowa Chapter, will lead the educational presentation.
ACMH’s involvement in AFSP community walks and suicide prevention education reflects its ongoing commitment to community health and well-being, including mental health awareness. By bringing educational opportunities to the community, ACMH hopes to encourage open conversations and provide support.
The program is free, and light refreshments including pizza and drinks, will be provided. Registration is not required. Community members are encouraged to attend.
ACMH extends a special thank you to the Audubon County Hospital Foundation for providing refreshments for the event. The continued support of the Audubon County Hospital Foundation in supporting ACMH and its mission to serve the Audubon County community is greatly appreciated and makes a meaningful difference in helping provide valuable programs and resources to our community.
