Annie Inman, Business Communications teacher at Audubon High School invited Melanie Larsen, COO and Haillie Bruch, HR Director at Audubon County Memorial Hospital to discuss the practical application of soft skills in the workplace.
Annie Inman mentioned that students in this class have studied “professionalism, flexibility/adaptability, critical thinking and problem solving, teamwork and collaboration, accepting criticism, communication, and are currently studying self-confidence as a segue into interviewing and résumé writing.”
Both Melanie Larsen and Haillie Bruch are Audubon High School alumni and were happy to have the opportunity to talk to the students about entering the workforce. They discussed interview preparation and how to conduct yourself during an interview. They provided sample interview questions and explained what hiring professionals look for in an interview. Larsen and Bruch rounded out their platform by reviewing professional etiquette and soft skills.
ACMH is proud to continue to be a resource for all its community members.
