ACMH and ACH Foundation Join Together to Raise Awareness

Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics offers breast care for every stage of life. That is why ACMH employees, and the Audubon County Hospital Foundation (ACHF) have partnered together to raise awareness for breast cancer year-round, not just during the month of October.

Last year, the Breast Cancer Education Program began. The purpose of this outreach program is to inform the community about early detection, when to see your provider, and treatment options available.

With this program, the ACH Foundation approved an annual donation of $1000.00 to Radiology Department at ACMH to purchase gifts for those patients that receive their mammogram at the hospital. This program also received an award of $500.00 from Positive Promotions for the impressive work in bringing awareness to the Audubon County community.

This year, community members can pick up Breast Health brochures at any of the Clinic facilities at ACMH. The brochures give breast healthcare statistics according to the American College of Radiology and provide a step by step process for self-examination.

They also explain what is available to patients at ACMH from the Rural Health Clinics, Radiology Department (what to expect during your mammogram), and if needed, breast surgery care with our General Surgeon, Dr. Jeffery Maire.

ACMH was honored to receive a beautiful, hand-made pink wreath created by Barb Hansen. This is a very special way to raise awareness for this month. The wreath is hanging in the ACMH Outpatient Specialty Clinic for all to enjoy. If you have any questions about breast care, call your healthcare provider today.
