ACMH Employees Make Fleece Blankets for Children’s Cancer Connections
As the cool weather begins to blow and the season of giving is upon us, Amber Fabian’s caring nature was a beacon of light to those in need. For those cool days and nights when children who have been diagnosed with cancer need a little extra comfort, Amber, her family and co-workers gathered together to make blankets for them.
Amber tells the story of how this tradition began. “My mom, Angie Williams, found out about Children’s Cancer Connections when she ran a race that they sponsored back in 2015. And ever since then she’s been donating gift cards, kid’s toys, and tie blankets to their organization to hand out to kids hospitalized with cancer associated ailments specifically during the holiday season. This year, my mom bought so much fabric to make blankets that I started to brainstorm how we could get them all completed before the holidays, and I knew I had a lot of great coworkers who would love to spend an evening completing a few with us. The night was open to coworkers and their family members. “
ACMH employees and their families are already looking ahead to another time when they can come together and continue Amber and her mother’s tradition.
