ACMH staff and providers enjoyed participating in the 2025 Career Day offered by Audubon County Economic Development. Career Day offered local students from around the area an opportunity to meet with staff members of a large variety of organizations from agriculture to healthcare.
ACMH was pleased to have the opportunity to talk to students about the healthcare industry. Students learned about all aspects of running healthcare including finance, information technology, security, nutrition, plant operations and everything in between. ACMH providers and staff took time out of their busy schedules to attend this event.

The ACMH Rural Healthcare Clinics staff were well represented at the event. Dr. Mandy Bartels, Internal Medicine Physician and Boni Johnson, RN, talked to students about their professions and other careers within healthcare.
Dr. Stephanie Vampola, Family Medicine Physician and Caylee Rokke, RN spoke with students interested in nursing and family healthcare. Dr. Vampola talked to the students about the importance of hydration and healthy eating. Dr. Vampola provided handouts that included her personal recipes for protein snacks and smoothies and a list of healthy after-school snacks.
Students interested in rehabilitation services careers were able to meet with Kyle Juhl, DPT and Courtney Schlichte, DPT and find out the workings of a typical day as a physical therapist and give insight on the differences between Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. Kyle Juhl also offered flyers that explained the new updated concussion protocols.
Nicole (Colee) Hayworth, DNP, CRNA, ARNP who specializes in anesthesia, gave students insight on her specialty.
Other hospital employees were on-hand to talk about non-clinical careers within the healthcare industry, including Haillie Bruch, Human Resource Director, Susan Greving, Marketing/Communications Director, and Joe Otten, Plant Operations Director.
Students left with brochures that reviewed educational requirements for clinical careers and non-clinical careers within the healthcare industry. Students were surprised that there are many careers that only require a high school diploma, an additional certificate, or minimal secondary education.
Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics offers a Student Exploration Visit program to all schools that are interested in bringing students for further discussion. This half day program is an on-site visit where student meet with ACMH department heads and employees.
If your school is interested in setting up a Student Exploration Visit or a job shadow for individual students, please contact Human Resources Director, Haillie Bruch, at 712-563-5258.
