ACMH Recipient of the 2020 LEGACI Award for Clinical Excellence

Every two years, the Iowa Donor Network looks to formally recognize partners for outstanding collaboration and effort in the areas of organ and tissue donation. This year, Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics is the recipient of the 2020 LEGACI award for Clinical Excellence! This award demonstrates our nursing staff’s commitment to clinical excellence by making consistent and timely referrals, implementing and carrying out donor policies, procedures, and/or protocols, collaborating with Iowa Donor Network to optimize donation opportunities, and organizing and/or participating in donation events.

Natalie Wetzel, CNA; Betsy Smith, Care Coordinator; Abby Elmquist, RN; Cassandra Neumann, RN Nursing Supervisor; Cassie Williams, RN; and Megan Baysinger, RN.

LEGACI awards can be awarded to one hospital partner and one out-of-hospital partner in each of the following categories: Leadership, Education, Gratitude, Advocacy, Clinical Excellence, and Innovation. Awards are given to partners that go above and beyond to collaborate with IDNN to ensure we fulfill our mission of “Working Together to Transform Lives Through Organ and Tissue Donation”. Iowa Donor Network (IDN) is a non-profit organization that operates as the primary contact for organ, tissue and eye donation services for the state of Iowa. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have certified IDN to function as the single organ procurement agency in the state. IDN also serves as the tissue recovery agency for the state. Anyone can register as an organ, eye, and tissue donor by visiting www.iowadonornetwork.org.
