Kaylene Riebhoff, Patient Access Specialist at Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics was honored with the 2025 first quarter ACMH Employee Recognition Award.
In 2024, ACMH developed a new award to honor employees who go above and beyond the scope of their duties. Suzanne Cooner, CEO of ACMH said, “We have so many employees that go above and beyond in caring for our patients and their fellow co-workers. This is an opportunity for staff members to nominate any staff member employed by ACMH.”
In order to be considered for this award, the nomination letter must showcase how the employee meets the values of the organization: Teamwork, Accountability, Integrity, Respect, Service Excellence, Stewardship. To determine the award honoree, these nominations are reviewed on a quarterly basis, reviewed by department heads, and voted on using a closed ballot.
Kaylene Riebhoff has worked in her role as a Patient Access Specialist at ACMH for 30 years. Her commitment to excellence is evident as she is often the first smiling face patients see as she welcomes them to ACMH.
Kaylene is the fourth recipient of the ACMH Employee Recognition Award and was nominated by Kandi Tague, HIM Specialist/Business Office Liaison. Kandi wrote the following about Kaylene in her nomination form:
“Kaylene is a very hard worker and goes out of her way to #1 – help the patients! If she sees that a patient is struggling to get out of their vehicle, needs assistance coming into the office, or whatever their need may be, she is right there assisting them. She is also very courteous and considerate to everyone, whether it be a patient or a teammate. She is willing to stay late or come in early to ensure the admit desk is covered, whether it is raining, snowing or the sun is shining! She ensures she is here in time for patients to arrive that want labs drawn early in the a.m. Kaylene absolutely exceeds the expectations of patients and their family members.
Kaylene constantly puts others first and is always willing to take on extra responsibility when there is a need for it. And talk about keeping the front office clean! Kaylene always wants to make certain the front office is sanitized and clean and continually assists Environmental Services with keeping trash emptied as well as desks/counters dusted and sanitized whenever necessary; and not because she was asked to do it, but because she wants to in order to help out the Environmental Services team. Kaylene is always courteous, polite, considerate, attentive and thoughtful without thinking about it, it is just who she is!
The main thing is patient care. Kaylene gives exceptional patient care, and, in many cases, this is their first impression of our hospital. I have often heard new patients comment on how wonderful they think our hospital staff are and it begins with Kaylene. Patients continue to come back, some traveling from a long distance, because of the care they receive, first starting with Kaylene. Many patients often try to make sure they are able to say “goodbye” to Kaylene when they leave vs. just walking out of our facility. Kaylene makes them feel like they are one of the family!
If anyone deserves this recognition, it is Kaylene!”

Congratulations to Kaylene for the dedication and commitment displayed with a friendly smile and the willingness to help co-workers and patients at Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics.
ACMH looks forward to sharing these special award honorees with the community.
