Nominate an ACMH Nurse for the 2018 DAISY Award

Did you have a great nurse who exemplified caring and excellence when you visited Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics (ACMH)? Do you feel they are worthy of receiving a distinguished award? If so, you can honor the compassion and care nurses provide their patients everyday and nominate a nurse for the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses at ACMH. Nominees are true team members, positive role models and exhibit excellent communication skills. They are professionals who are consistently caring and compassionate.

The DAISY Foundation was established in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes. Patrick died at the age of 33 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP), thus giving name to the award “Diseases Attacking the Immune System” DAISY. Patrick’s family was completely awestruck by the care and compassion that they and Patrick were shown during his 8 week illness that they wanted to say THANK YOU to nurses. In Patrick’s Honor, the DAISY Award is now in over 2,400+ healthcare facilities in all 50 states, and in 15 different countries, all of whom are committed to honoring their nurses with The DAISY Award. Each year, one nurse at ACMH is honored with this award.

DAISY Award recipients are nurses who exemplify the nursing values of Extraordinary Compassion, Courage, Integrity, in every situation. These individuals consistently demonstrate excellence in the delivery of patient care and promotion of their professional nursing practice. ACMH has participated in the DAISY award program since 2013. Past recipients include Carol Lea Rasmussen, Deb Jensen, Linda Holland, Suzann Derry, and Becky Bruch.

“We are excited to continue with the DAISY award program this year to provide on-going recognition of the clinical skills and compassion that nurses provide to patients and families all year long,” stated Lisa Paulsen, Chief Nursing Officer at ACMH.

ACMH currently employs over 50 nurses in the organization working in several different areas including Medical-Surgical, Emergency Department, Specialty Clinics, Surgical Services, Infection Prevention, Clinical IT, Physician Clinics, Care Coordination, and Administration.
