Dr. Stephanie Vampola, Family Medicine Physician at Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics has always been an advocate for expanding literary access to our younger generation.
For the second year, the Audubon County Hospital Foundation has sponsored the Books for Kids program. This program was designed to support Dr. Vampola’s outreach program to Audubon County students.
Dr. Vampola visited both Audubon and Exira elementary schools during National Literacy Month and read to each class. While talking to the children about the joy of reading, she handed each student their own children’s book to take home. Dr. Vampola also participated in Exira’s Literacy Night where “Even doctors love to read.”
The Foundation board members are proud to be able to bring this program to our community.
