On Wednesday, April 30th, Exira-EHK’s elementary staff hosted Family S.T.E.A.M. Night for students and their families. Local organizations and companies attended this event where they had hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy.
S.T.E.A.M. stands for science, technology, engineering, art, and math. This event brought a large crowd of eager youngsters who explored these activities with imagination!
Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics staff members, Val Riesberg, ARNP, Christy Konkler, CMA, and Sarah Asmus, Specialty Clinic and Surgery Manager, brought supplies of band aids, gauze, wraps, sanitizer and other items for each student to make their own first aid kit.
This event gave ACMH staff the perfect opportunity to join with the community and highlight the importance of science. With coloring books, crayons and puzzle sheets, the employees were able to spend time getting to know the students outside of the clinic atmosphere. They were all smiles as some of the little ones recognized them and ran up to the table saying, “You are my doctor, right?”
