ACMH Recognized by State of Iowa for Quality Infrastructure

Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics was recognized by the State of Iowa’s Department of Health and Human Services for fulfilling Critical Access Hospital Quality Infrastructure Elements and Criteria for 2024.

This award recognition stated, “Your hospital has been chosen by the Iowa HHS Rural Hospital Flex Program to receive an MBQIP (Quality Improvement) award. We are excited to honor and recognize your quality improvement accomplishment. Thank you for the excellent care you provide to Iowans!”

The Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program (Flex Program) grant is awarded to Iowa HHS by the Health Resources Services Administration. Through the Flex Program grant, HHS contracts with organizations to implement activities related to quality improvement, financial improvement, operational improvement, and population health.

Pleased with this recognition, Melanie Larsen, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at ACMH is quick to state that improvements like this are the result of teamwork. “Our Department Heads and staff do a great job identifying quality measures which improve the care and safety we provide for our patients. This award is directly related to their efforts.”

While Larsen, as the Chief Operating Officer, leads the Quality Department, she clearly is proud of the team as a whole. “It is because of the great staff that we received this recognition. This award is for them.” ACMH Care Coordination Manager, Jennifer Schneider, RN is presented with a MBQIP (Quality Improvement) Award by Wanda Hilton, EdD, CHES, Rural Hospital Flex/SHIP Program Coordinator.
