The Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics staff donated to the Random Acts of Kindness day project sponsored by the ACMH Employee’s Club. On February 17^th, the items that were collected were delivered to residents of the Friendship Home and Exira Care Center.  Staff donated a total of $125.00 which was matched by the ACMH Employee’s Club for a total of $250.00.  The money was used to purchase more items like large print crosswords, soft tissues, crafts, socks, candy, nail polish and puzzles in addition to all the items staff personally donated.

Cooner said, “To determine the award, the Chartis Center used the Hospital Strength Index, which assesses performance in eight areas which are inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charges, and financial efficiency.”

As of February 3, 2022, anyone ages 5 and over needing a COVID-19 vaccination of either the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd, or booster dose, please contact your Primary Care Provider, your pharmacy, Medicap, or Audubon County Public Health at 712-563-2226.

In anticipation of winter weather arriving this season, Audubon County Public Health and Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics will continue to hold the COVID-19 TESTING CENTER clinic hours from 9:00-10:30 a.m.

A Moderna Booster Vaccine Clinic will be held on Wednesday Jan 19, 2022 from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. at Audubon County Memorial Hospital.  Please call Melanie Larsen 712-563-5238 to set up an appointment.

On January 5, 2022 the CDC expanded booster vaccine eligibility for adolescents ages 12 to 17 years old recommending they should receive a booster vaccine 5 months after their initial Pfizer-BioNTech vaccination series.  Data show that COVID-19 boosters help broaden and strengthen protection against Omicron and other SARS-CoV-2 variants. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) reviewed the available safety data following the administration of over 25 million vaccine doses in adolescents; COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective.

The year of 2021 saw the completion of Audubon County Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) retrofit. Unfortunately, for COVID-19 safety reasons the Hospital was unable to host an open house for the community to see the updated ED before the grand re-opening.   Hospital employees, Board of Trustee and Foundation representatives, and Audubon community leaders came together to celebrate with a ribbon cutting.

SANTA CLAUS DROPS IN AND SURPRISES ACMH EMPLOYEES AND THEIR FAMILIES

Santa and his reindeer flew through Audubon last week, making stops along the way.

Audubon County Memorial Hospital and the Foundation joined with fellow community groups for Holiday Hometown. This past Saturday, the Agrihall was filled with holiday cheer as community members toured beautiful Christmas trees and enjoyed delicious snacks while the children had a visit from Santa!
