Natalie Wetzel, C.N.A./Ward Clerk at Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics was honored with the 2025 third quarter ACMH Employee Recognition Award.
In 2024, ACMH developed a new award to honor employees who go above and beyond the scope of their duties. Callen Weispfennig, CEO of ACMH said, “We have so many employees that go above and beyond in caring for our patients and their fellow co-workers. This is an opportunity for staff members to nominate any ACMH staff member.”
In order to be considered for this award, the nomination letter must showcase how the employee meets the values of the organization: Teamwork, Accountability, Integrity, Respect, Service Excellence, Stewardship. To determine the award honoree, these nominations are reviewed on a quarterly basis, reviewed by department heads, and voted on using a closed ballot.
Natalie Wetzel has worked at ACMH for almost 7 years. Her commitment to ACMH patients is evident as she goes above and beyond listening to them and bringing them joy. Natalie always greets patients, their families and staff with a welcoming smile.
Natalie is the sixth recipient of the ACMH Employee Recognition Award and was nominated by Lorie Wolfe, EVS Tech and Katie Klade, DPT, Director of Rehab Services.
Lorie Wolfe wrote the following about Natalie in her nomination form: “I nominate Natalie Wetzel for the Employee Recognition Award. She is a light to all she comes in contact with. Natalie is always going above and beyond in everything she does. I have seen her interact with numerous patients and she has always treated them with dignity and respect. Natalie takes time to listen to the needs of the patients. Natalie is a team player and very willing to take on tasks that are presented to her. I have witnessed the joy she gives to a patient that may be feeling down or upset by doing little things like fixing their hair to help them feel better. The smile from patients resonates with their family when they come to visit because the patients feel better, despite being in the hospital. Natalie cares for her fellow employees in the same manner as herself. I could not be happier to work with such a great person.”
Katie Glade, DPT, Director of Rehab wrote the following about Natalie in her nomination form: “Natalie is a true example of all the attributes a healthcare worker should be or should strive to be. I feel Natalie goes above and beyond for patients, by doing small things like painting their nails and “dolling” them up. The one-on-one time spent with patients, I feel, helps them have a faster recovery. Natalie is a team player and demonstrates service, excellence and the characteristics that going into healthcare should strive for. Natalie has helped me countless times when I have needed help on the floor and always does it with a smile. Natalie is deserving of the Employee Recognition Award.”
Congratulations to Natalie on being the sixth recipient of the Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics Employee Recognition Award.
ACMH looks forward to sharing these special award honorees with the community.
