Dr. Jeffrey Maire Meets with Exira-EHK High School Students

Healthcare Career Talk with Local High School Students

Last week, Dr. Jeffrey Maire, Geneal Surgeon at Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics met with a classroom of Exira-EHK High School students interested in learning more about healthcare careers.

Dr. Maire’s passion for sharing his knowledge to the younger generation did not go unnoticed. Maire takes pride in presenting the myriad of options that the healthcare industry has to offer. From clinical positions to non-clinical alike, Dr. Maire is eager to share his passion for medicine and encourages students to explore different paths to find their niche.

McKinzie Bricker, the Secondary Counselor at Exira-EHK was instrumental in coordinating this opportunity with Dr. Maire and the students. ACMH is proud to partner with Exira-EHK Community School District and Mrs. Bricker’s commitment to her students and education notable.  It is a unique opportunity to be able to have a General Surgeon available to meet with high school students to discuss real-life career choice options, cost, and education requirements.

Dr. Maire and ACMH are proud to continue to collaborate with our local schools to bring awareness and education to our young people and let them know they have access to resources right in their own county.
