Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care for a specific group of patients. Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical and emergency care setting. Communicates with physicians and co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patients’ clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Coordinates care in collaboration with the patient, family, nurses, peers, physicians, and allied health care providers. Assumes responsibility for the outcome of nursing care delivered. Additionally, performs general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. Experience/Education Requirements: Graduation from an accredited program of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa is mandatory. Prior emergency department or ICU experience, preferred. Must be familiar with electronic health records and have basic computer skills. Must maintain all certifications as required by job function or by law. Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation.
