Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics (ACMH) was proud to participate in several community events throughout September, creating opportunities to connect with community members, share health information, promote local resources and support the organizations that help make Audubon County a strong and connected community.
Community partnerships are an important part of ACMH’s commitment to providing more than healthcare within its walls. By participating in local events, ACMH staff have the opportunity to meet people where they are, answer questions, increase awareness of available services and support the community organizations working every day to make a difference.
In September, ACMH participated in the Dr. Jeffrey Speaker Series at the Audubon Lions Club, where he shared information about the ACMH Wound Care Clinic and the specialized services available to individuals experiencing wounds that may require additional treatment and care. The discussion provided an opportunity to educate community members about wound care resources available close to home and when specialized wound care may be appropriate.
ACMH was also proud to be a sponsor of the Out of the Darkness Walk, supporting efforts to increase awareness surrounding mental health and suicide prevention while recognizing the importance of connection and community support. ACMH’s Behavioral Health Clinic, led by Shelli Brown, ARNP, PMHNP, BC, provides behavioral health services for individuals who may benefit from additional support. The month also included the Exira Fall Festival, where ACMH enjoyed spending time with community members and sharing information about local healthcare services. The event also provided an opportunity to introduce and highlight Tyler Williams, ARNP, ACMH’s newest Rural Health Clinic provider. Tyler also had the opportunity to visit with community members at Bakery on Broadway as part of the “What’s Happening…” series, providing another opportunity to connect with residents, answer questions and introduce himself to the community. ACMH looks forward to the care and connections Tyler will bring to patients throughout the surrounding communities.
