The Back-to-School Wish List for Teachers program, which began in 2024 through the efforts of ACMH employee Sarah Asmus, LPN, Director of Clinical Informatics/OPC/Surgery, is once again helping local teachers prepare their classrooms for the new school year.
The program puts a community-minded twist on traditional back-to-school fundraisers. Rather than asking teachers and families to raise funds, ACMH employees come together to purchase and donate classroom supplies requested by teachers throughout the county.
This year, Asmus continued the tradition by visiting Exira-EHK to deliver classroom supplies to support local teachers and students. ACMH Administrative Assistant Amy Blackwell also participated in the effort, visiting Audubon Elementary School and delivering donated supplies to Principal Mrs. Nicki Olsen.
These donations provide teachers with supplies they can put to use in their classrooms throughout the school year. The effort is a meaningful way for ACMH employees to show their support for local educators and the students they serve.
For Blackwell, the visit to Audubon also provided an opportunity to introduce herself as a new member of the ACMH team and become more connected with the community.
“We are proud to support our local teachers and the important work they do every day,” said Asmus. “This program is a simple way for our employees to give back and help make a difference in classrooms throughout our communities.”
The Back-to-School Wish List for Teachers program reflects ACMH’s commitment to supporting the communities it serves — not only through healthcare, but by investing in the schools, educators and students who help make those communities strong.
Through the generosity of ACMH employees, teachers receive a helping hand as they welcome students back for another year of learning.
