Audubon, IA, February 28, 2023 –Myrtue Medical Center and Audubon County Memorial Hospital are collaborating to provide OB/GYN services.
Myrtue Medical Center, in partnership with Audubon County Memorial Hospital (ACMH), offer expectant moms the combined care of Myrtue’s pregnancy and birthing services with follow-up care from Audubon’s family medical providers.
Myrtue Medical Center offers complete pregnancy and birthing services. Patients will be cared for at Harlan’s Surgery + Specialty Clinic by Dr. Kelly Anderson, OB/GYN. Myrtue also provides childbirth preparation classes and appointments with Internationally Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Cara Cacy.
Dr. Andersen follows prenatal progress, delivers newborns, and checks in with mom and baby during their stay at Myrtue’s Birthing Center. Dr. Anderson will continue to see patients three to six weeks postpartum before being release to their primary care provider.
ACMH offers blood tests as part of routine care during pregnancy. These results are then shared with Dr. Anderson.
Before leaving the Birthing Center, Myrtue’s OB nurse will make the newborn’s first follow-up visit with the patient’s choice of Audubon’s providers. ACMH’s providers Dr. Stephanie Vampola, Dr. Jon Swanson, Valerie Riesberg, ARNP or Vivian Chance, ARNP, will see newborns in both Audubon Family Health Care Clinic and Exira Medical Clinic.
