Local nurse, Joan Bauer has dedicated her career to caring for and supporting the community of Audubon County. On April 27th family, friends, and co-workers (from Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics) walked in the PanCAN PurpleStride to support Joan in her battle against pancreatic cancer.
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network developed the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer. This walk named, PanCAN PurpleStride, certainly lives up to its motto of “Local action. Nationwide impact.”
This annual fundraiser brings together pancreatic cancer patients, survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network mentions that these supporters “took steps together at nearly 60 PurpleStride events across the nation to honor everyone affected by the disease.”
PanCAN PurpleStride’s fundraising efforts support essential research, free support programs including information and resources for patients and caregivers.
