Colonoscopies Now Recommended At Age 45
March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics brings awareness of the benefits of colorectal cancer screenings to its community. A colorectal screening test is used to look for disease when a person doesn’t have symptoms.
ACMH Continues To Require Masks In Facilities
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, hospitals and other health care settings are not subject to the new CDC masking recommendations. Therefore, regardless of a community’s status under the new metrics, Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics (ACMH) will continue to require visitors, staff, and patients to wear masks within its facilities.
ACMH AND CLINICS RECOGNIZES FEBRUARY AS AMERICAN HEART MONTH
Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics recognize February as American Heart Month. Heart disease can lead to heart attack, stroke, heart failure, and death. The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) reports that heart disease is the leading cause of death in Iowa and nationwide.

This pandemic has touched us all. Many of us know someone who has been affected by COVID-19. Whether this virus has been in your home, at work or in your community, the consequences have had a ripple effect on how we currently live our lives.
ACMH AND CLINICS STAFF DONATES TO COMMUNITY ON RANDOM ACTS OF KINDESS DAY
The Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics staff donated to the Random Acts of Kindness day project sponsored by the ACMH Employee’s Club. On February 17th, the items that were collected were delivered to residents of the Friendship Home and Exira Care Center. Staff donated a total of $125.00 which was matched by the ACMH Employee’s Club for a total of $250.00. The money was used to purchase more items like large print crosswords, soft tissues, crafts, socks, candy, nail polish and puzzles in addition to all the items staff personally donated.
ACMH AND CLINICS DESIGNATED TOP 100 CRITICAL ACCESS HOSPITAL IN THE UNITED STATES
Cooner said, “To determine the award, the Chartis Center used the Hospital Strength Index, which assesses performance in eight areas which are inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charges, and financial efficiency.”
